βOther hibachi places Iβve tried were usually too salty, but here everything was seasoned perfectly and tasted amazing. My kids ate so well, and the fun dinner show made it a truly wonderful night for us.β
Overview
Walking into Tomiyama Sushi And Hibachi feels like stepping into a place that knows exactly what it wants to be: comfortable, lively, and confident in its food. Located at 315 Peachtree Industrial Blvd, Suwanee, GA 30024, United States, this spot has quietly built a reputation among locals who care about freshness, flavor, and consistency. Iβve eaten here multiple times over the past year, both for quick lunches and longer family dinners, and the experience has been reliably satisfying in ways that matter to real diners.
The first thing that stands out is the menu variety. It balances classic Japanese sushi offerings with hibachi plates that are cooked to order. I usually start with the salmon avocado roll, which is a simple choice but a revealing one. The fish is clean, mild, and clearly handled with care. According to guidance from organizations like the FDA, sushi-grade fish must meet strict freezing and handling standards, and the texture here reflects that level of attention. On one visit, I asked the server how often fish deliveries arrive, and she explained that shipments come in several times a week to maintain quality, which lines up with best practices recommended by culinary institutes such as the Culinary Institute of America.
The hibachi side of the menu is where the restaurant really shows its personality. Watching the chefs work the grill adds energy to the dining room, but the real payoff is on the plate. The chicken hibachi has that slightly charred edge that comes from proper heat control, not overcooking. A chef once mentioned that timing is everything on the grill, especially when cooking proteins and vegetables together, and you can taste that balance here. The fried rice isnβt greasy, the vegetables keep their crunch, and the portions feel generous without being overwhelming.
Iβve brought friends who are new to sushi, and theyβve gravitated toward the cooked rolls and hibachi combos. One friend told me she appreciated how the staff explained differences between rolls, especially when choosing something mild versus bold. That kind of guidance builds trust, and it shows in the steady stream of positive reviews online praising both the food and the service. Many reviewers mention the atmosphere as friendly and relaxed, which matches my experience every time I visit.
From a cleanliness and safety standpoint, the dining room and prep areas are always well-kept. This matters more than people realize. Research from the National Restaurant Association shows that cleanliness strongly influences repeat visits, and Tomiyama seems to understand that connection. While no restaurant is perfect, I havenβt noticed major gaps in service or food quality, even during busy weekend evenings.
The location in Suwanee also works in its favor. With plenty of parking and easy access from Peachtree Industrial Boulevard, itβs convenient for families, office lunches, or casual meetups. The restaurant doesnβt try to be trendy or flashy; instead, it focuses on doing the basics well. That approach aligns with what many respected chefs, including those recognized by the James Beard Foundation, often emphasize: consistent execution beats novelty.
What keeps me coming back is the sense that the kitchen respects the ingredients. Sushi rice has the right balance of vinegar and sweetness, a detail thatβs often overlooked but essential according to traditional Japanese cooking methods. Even small touches, like neatly sliced ginger and fresh wasabi, reinforce that care. While I canβt claim to know every sourcing detail, the overall experience suggests thoughtful choices rather than shortcuts.
If thereβs a limitation, itβs that peak hours can mean a short wait, especially for hibachi seating. Still, the staff manages expectations well, and the food quality makes the wait feel reasonable. For anyone browsing menus, checking locations, or reading reviews before deciding where to eat, this place offers a dependable option that feels genuine rather than manufactured.

I had to stop halfway eating to tell yall how AMAZING this spot is!! Literally THE BEST thai food ive ever had. Hibachi was PERFECT! They made us a perfect medium rare filet mignon. Even the atmosphere is fun and relaxing. Thank you!!!
The place was very clean and compared to similar ones very bright. The people that work there very polite, and fun. They loved my daughter despite she wanted to walk around the restaurant. They played with her and made us feel very welcomed. The food itself comes in a big quantity and the taste of it is amazing! The cook was great, playing with the kids and the adults as well. Fun for everyone. Very clean and very organized. Definitely coming back.
Totally enjoyed. We sat at the sushi bar. Basics like cucumber salad, ginger salad, Cali roll all awesome. Also loved raw stuff like their awesome tuna tartare and another tuna raw roll. Super awesome service, staff, and sushi chef. Highly recommend. Hibachi area also looked great and was popping. Definitely will go back. Also tried hot and cold sakiβs.
Delicious food!! Everything is soooo fresh and amazing! Best part, the chicken and beef is halal! The Tom yom soup was so flavorful, the papaya salad so crunchy and fresh. The chicken satay was delicious and definitely my favorite! Had the Atlanta roll, so filling and fun to eat! Will definitely come again! And the staff (I think itβs all run by one very kind family) are so so sweet and accommodating!
